Study-Action Teams

Developed by colleagues at Lean Project Consulting Study-Action Teams (SAT) use other people’s learning – often in the form of a book – as the basis for thinking about what they do, what they want to be different and developing a strategic change agenda.

SATs are a great way to kick start a lean transformation or a project because they help align aspirations.

There are standard work methods for:

  1. Bulletreading the book

  2. Bulletdiscussing the key points and their relevance to the readers’ organisation or project

  3. Bulletagreeing the strategic change agenda for the organisation or project

You will find a description of Study-Action Teams in this paper: Hill_Slivon_&_Draper_2007_Another_approach_to_transforming_project_delivery_LPC.pdf
